You can come as part of a team for a week. Interested in serving for more than a week? We are seeking individuals and couples motivated to show the love of Christ to those in need to join our Crisis Response Ministry team in Southern Louisiana. This people-focused mission is working in partnership with several local churches to bring healing, hope and restoration to the body of Christ, as well as exposure and evangelism to the community. Current needs include individuals skilled in all aspects of residential construction to work on a huge number of homes that need repair and rebuilding. We are asking for a minimum of at least a 1 month commitment, but also have opportunities for 6-12 months and longer as a short-term opportunity through TouchGlobal. If you would like additional information, please contact Mark Lewis at mark.lewis@efca.org or call (985) 893-0218.
The Katrina Project is a partnership between the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), Trinity Church in Covington, Urban Impact, Castle Rock Church in New Orleans and Food for the Hungry. Together we are working to bring hope to thousands of people in Louisiana whose lives were forever changed by Hurricane Katrina. Through gutting, cleaning and rebuilding houses, removing trees and debris and cleaning up streets, we are sharing the love of Christ with those around us, providing a real, living hope to thousands of people.
