Fools for Christ…
Are you willing to be a ordinary fool for Jesus Christ???
So the theme for this week has been this…typically we are so willing to make fools of ourselves for any reason, why are we so hesitant when it comes to our faith??
I would not ask you to share your fools for Christ stories without posting mine first. I have several foolish stories but I’ll pick the most recent. I was on a trip from Louisiana to Wisconsin to pick up my son. I stopped at Subway in some random state along the way. When I walked in I saw a woman sitting by herself eating her sub. The Holy Spirit said very clearly, “Go talk to her.” I replied in my mind, “No way, I’ll sound like a fool!” I proceeded to get my food and shook it off as me being “stupid.” The Holy Spirit said, “go talk to her Mandy.” I thought, “oh no, I really have to do this don’t I???” I argued with my God for the next few minutes about the details of this. I said to him, “I don’t know what to say!” He replied, “I’ll give you the words, go.”
Picture this, the woman gets up to leave…last chance. I walked up and said, “um..you don’t know me but God told me to tell you that He knows things are difficult right now, He loves you and He’s with you.” She started sobbing uncontrollably and said, “I know he is! It’s just been so hard!”
This experience for me has begged the question…ARE WE WILLING??? Are we willing to be obedient to His will for us? Are we willing to be obedient to his voice? Are we willing to go and do and say and be all that He is calling us to?? My dream is to see the Acts 1:8 church alive and well!
Blessings on your week!

It was my first time teaching bible study and I was rightly, nervous. The subject was Acts 13 and 14, sharing Christ in all places. I am attending this very conservative church in the new town where I am living. I proceeded to go about teaching what I know so well…talking about Jesus. I shared many things with this group of ladies on how the Word of God can be spread in the simplest ways, quoting from Pastor Michael at Trinity Church and adding some of my own words to nail the point home.
I told them about Compassion ministries and the missionaries, like you all, right here among us, and that we don’t need to leave the country to do missionary work. America is literally, going to the devil!!!. I told them that Satan was alive and well, and that we need to act and react to the conditions around us and not be so complacent. I don’t think these conservative women were ready for me. There were a lot of deer in the headlight looks when I wrapped it up. This church has been here for ions and they are use to things the same old way, a bit of a “stuffed shirt” attitude, if you get my drift. One of the first Sunday services I attended, I raised my hands to Christ and boy… you should have seen the heads turn!
Never be afraid to show your love for Jesus, you never know who is watching. Also, never be afraid that others know more than you because the Holy Spirit will give you the words. This group of ladies are wives and daughters of pastors and He gave me the words.
These people have seen the passion I have for Jesus and I pray that it will stir up the fire of Christ and rekindle that light of hope in them!! Hope so!

I went to New Orleans August 4th-August 11th with Lighthouse Community Church (LCC). My homeowners name was Jim Augustine who is one of the nicest guys I have ever met, he always has a smile on his face. He was so nice he even went out to buy us popcicles one day. His house is in Lacombe. Working there was a great experience for me I came much closer to my church and to god. I had never worked this hard in my life. I sweated so much I thought I was gonna dry out, but it was very rewarding especially for a 13 year old like myself. If my church ever goes back to New Orleans again I am definitely going to go it was so awesome. If your church is planning on going definately consider going.
